| When a request for release and deployment is received, the Release Manager must understand the scope and requirements of
the release and classify it appropriately. Once classified, the release must get assigned to an appropriate policy (based
on the classification), that it must follow. The Release Manager must plan for the release and schedule its activities in
line with the Change Plan, in co-ordination with the Change Coordinator/ Change Manager. The Release And Deployment Plan
must be prepared considering the business requirements, acceptance criteria, deployment strategy etc. Release Manager must
determine the urgency, severity and impact on business in both implementing and not implementing this release before
finalizing the plan. This plan and criteria must be shared with all relevant stakeholders well in advance to set the
expectations correctly. All the possible risks are captured and communicated to all stakeholders. |
